Sustainable webshop for Doemarkt Van Gheluwe

They specialize in DIY materials, garden, decoration and animal. You can also come to them for custom wood. Prefer to order from the comfort of your couch? You can do that now, too, through the webshop Webdude created for Doemarkt.

The question
However, after Doemarkt Van Gheluwe greatly expanded their retail space earlier, they did not see a good place to display hundreds of decorative and tableware items. That’s why Niels from Doemarkt came knocking on Webdude’s door. “Wouldn’t it be a good idea to sell our decoration items online and have a web shop created?”
In addition, the current website could use a refresh. Doemarkt needed a website where users could easily find their way around and place their orders.
The solution
Doemarkt thinks about the future and went for a sustainable solution without hesitation. With this new web shop, they struck the right path toward digitizing their business.
We completely rebuilt Doemarkt’s website from scratch. Relying on an easy CMS system, the website was given a refreshing new look that matched the current corporate identity. The formatting of the pages was done with a strong focus on SEO, because what are you with a web shop that is hard to find in Google?
Throughout the process, various functionalities were added, for both Doemarkt and the client. And the results are accordingly!

Easy to use
Maintaining products is not duplication of effort. We connected the POS system from the store to the WooCommerce webshop, saving a lot of work. This way the articles with all the details flow in automatically and the stock is always up-to-date.
Strongly increasing sales
Store visits increased after the launch of the website. Customers who did not know of Doemarkt's existence now ended up at Doemarkt's web shop thanks to their online search for specific products.
In addition, they attract not only more local customers, but customers from all regions of Belgium and the Netherlands thanks to fast home deliveries.
More visible on Google
In addition to being displayed in the regular text results with matching product photo, Doemarkt's products are also visible in Google Shopping, increasing sales by 40%!

A separate VAT field for professional customers, automating product pricing based on weight, an easy search function with automatic suggestions, additional payment options specifically for Dutch customers, setting up Black Friday promotions... These small custom-made features provided that extra order every time.
